Arsenal leading the race to sign 22yo Dutch striker
Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are on the look out for a new centre-forward and Zirkzee is one of the top names on their wishlist.
Gazzetta dello Sport today claim that Milan are lining up a proposal for the striker, but they are trailing behind Arsenal.
The Gunners are reportedly 'above all' in the race for the Netherlands ace, who has made 19 goal contributions this term.
Mikel Arteta's side are ready to trigger the €40m release clause in his contract as well as provide a €6m per year salary.
In comparison, Milan can only afford a long-term payment plan for Zirkzee. They could propose a loan deal with a buy obligation.
Arsenal are currently favourites to land the highly-rated striker, but the hierarchy may want to assess his injury situation first.
Zirkzee picked up a hamstring injury earlier this month, and it has been reported that he could be sidelined for four weeks.
