Reports on Tuesday morning suggest that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is putting the finishing touches to an offer for Wigan midfielder James McCarthy; an offer believed to be worth about 12m GBP to the Latics.

Arsenal are reportedly waiting for a move for Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona to be completed, and then they will bankroll a move for McCarthy.
