01 August 2011 - 03:48

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is still keen on signing Man City reject Emmanuel Adebayor, despite the Togo international being told that he will have to wait for a suitable offer before he can leave the Etihad Stadium.

  • £47m star to undergo Chelsea medical on Friday
  • Josh Acheampong eyeing move away from Chelsea
  • Adebayor has been training with Real Madrid over the past few days and was in England for Real's friendly match with Leicester.

"Adebayor is here because he belongs to us,’ said Mourinho.

"He worked at Real Madrid for six months and went to the heart of everybody. Everybody loves him.

"Whether he comes or not doesn’t matter. On August 31, everyone will know who is in, who is out and who is playing. Adebayor came here as a friend and is always welcome."
