Milan could not compete for Fabregas

16 August 2011 - 10:21

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has admitted that his club could not afford to sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The midfielder made his dream switch to the Nou Camp yesterday, but Milan were one of the other clubs interested in the Spain international.

Galliani said: "Fabregas? He had too high a cost for us, but it is a generic problem for Italian football, we cannot compete with the costs they have in Spain.

"Fabregas could not come to us because of turnover."
