AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has admitted that his club could not afford to sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.
The midfielder made his dream switch to the Nou Camp yesterday, but Milan were one of the other clubs interested in the Spain international.
Galliani said: "Fabregas? He had too high a cost for us, but it is a generic problem for Italian football, we cannot compete with the costs they have in Spain.
"Fabregas could not come to us because of turnover."
