Harry Redknapp has said that Portsmouth's Portuguese midfielder Pedro Mendes will not be leaving the club anytime soon as he has a future in the first team when several of Pompey's side disappear in January for the African nations tournament. Blackburn wish to sign the midfielder.
Blackburn have been linked with Mendes of late, but Portsmouth are keen to keep hold of the player.
Blackburn were weighing up the proposition of making a £2.5m offer for the midfielder.
