Tottenham plan Luka Modric talks

12 September 2011 - 13:05

Tottenham are planning to discuss a new contract with Croatian midfielder Luka Modric. Spurs reportedly rejected a 27m GBP offer from Chelsea for their star player this summer.

  • However, we understand that Tottenham are ready to sit down with the Croatian and discuss terms on a new contract.

It is believed that Modric currently has two years left on a deal that leaves him considerably short of most top Premier League players, and is reportedly fuming that Spurs have yet to offer him a new deal.

But Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is desperate to keep Modric at the club and is prepared to triple Modric's salary.

"Luka will just get on with it - the chairman will sit down and discuss his contract and make a deal," Harry Redknapp said.

"We are looking to make him a good offer. The transfer window being shut now makes my job easier because he has to just get on with playing."
