Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has put a positive spin on his ankle injury that leaves him on the sidelines until February, insisting that his injury could mean he is in top form come next summer's showpiece tournament.
Wilshere is expected to be out of action until February of next year, and that time on the sidelines will mean he is less active over the course of the season and will be ready for Euro 2012.
Wilshere quipped: "Everyone says that the players always look dead for England in the summer but I should be fresh if I come back strongly and I get picked.
"It feels a long way off for me at the moment because I'm walking around on crutches.
"It'll drive me crazy but what keeps you going is the thought that you will be back on the pitch again."
