Barcelona enter Gary Cahill race

Barcelona enter Gary Cahill race

06 October 2011 - 01:37

Barcelona are the latest team linked with a move for Bolton and England international centre back Gary Cahill. The player is out of contract this summer, and Barcelona could swoop for the talented young centre back from under the noses of Tottenham and Arsenal.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Both North London sides have been linked with a move for Cahill, but failed to agree a fee last summer.

Subsequently, Cahill now only has 8 months left on his current contract and has Bolton worrying that the centre back will leave on the cheap.

Arsenal last summer offered 12m GBP, whilst Spurs offered around 15m GBP, but that was some way short of the 20m that Bolton were looking for.

As Cahill nears the end of his contract, some are suggesting that the price of the player will drop and Barcelona could agree a pre-contract agreement with Cahill to ensure that he arrives at the Nou Camp in July of next year.
