Sneijder is like Inter's Totti

Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri has comapared Wesley Sneijder to AS Roma legend Francesco Totti.

  • Dutch star undergoing his medical at Chelsea
  • Chelsea's deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder falls through

  • Speaking after a shock 2-0 loss to Swiss team Lugano in a friendly on Saturday, Ranieri stated that he believes Sneijder's influence is similar to that of Totti, with whom he had worked with while at Roma.

"I have no doubt that Sneijder is Inter's Totti, as when he is on the field something magical always happens," the 59-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ranieri played down fears of a crisis in the team, stating that he wanted to give players like Poli and Maicon more game time after recent injuries.

"It was still a good training session and allowed us to test out the condition of some players returning from injury," he added.

Despite Sneijder being out with an injury, Ranieri was still upbeat about Inter's title chances.

"This team has no limits, as we can still win the Scudetto," the coach concluded.
