Mancini to open Man City contract talks

16 October 2011 - 07:40

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is ready to discuss terms on a new contract this week. We understand the Italian will be offered a new four year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Since the departure of chief executive Garry Cook, City have been looking for some stability and are seemingly happy with progress made by Man City so far this year.

Mancini recently said: “I don’t want to leave, I’m very happy here. If the club want me to stay, then that’s good.

“In England, managers have more power regarding the team and everything else about the club.

“I’m not saying I can have the power of someone like (Sir Alex) Ferguson but if a manager stays at a club for five or six years it is natural that he has more power.”

Mancini could earn 90,000 GBP a week with a new deal.
