Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has been tracking the progress of FC Sion forward Giovanni Sio, as the under fire Black Cats' boss prepares to beef up his squad in January.

Sio has been with the Swiss club Sion since 2009, when he left his homeland of France to try his luck in the Swiss top flight.



The 22 year old striker has enjoyed some success at his current club, with Sunderland's scouts tracking the forward for over two months already.



Sio would be available at around 3.5m GBP.
