Tottenham manager rules out quit talk

Tottenham manager rules out quit talk

06 November 2011 - 16:15

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out talk of retirement from football, insisting that he sees his long term future in the game, despite the coach having minor heart surgery this week.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Redknapp is widely believed to be the FA's number one target to replace Fabio Capello after Euro 2012, and take up the England hot seat.

However, the former Portsmouth and West Ham manager had been linked with a shock early retirement from football after his heart surgery.

But Redknapp insists his long term future remains in football:

"The only other way I'll walk away from football is the day I stop enjoying it and that isn't going to happen any day soon. On the contrary, I have probably never been happier in the job than I am now.

"I feel extremely fortunate to be involved in football and working for a great club with a superb group of players. Honestly, I even get a buzz out of watching the lads train, so my enthusiasm has never been greater."
