22 November 2011 - 08:12

Sunderland could make a move for Nicklas Bendtner permanently, if he continues to impress. Steve Bruce has admitted that signing the Danish striker from Arsenal could be an option.

  • Bendtner is currently on loan at Sunderland for the season, and is available at the end of the year for a cut price 5.5m GBP.

Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to keep the burly forward at the Stadium of Light after his loan expires in July.

“I have made no secret we would love to sign him," said Bruce.

“However, it is going to be one of those again, the better he does, certainly internationally, (the more) people are looking at him.

“I spoke to (Denmark coach) Morten Olsen on Thursday and he was delighted with his performances and, I have to say, so am I for us."
