Impressive Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud is the latest name to have been linked with a move to Newcastle as part of their French revolution at St. James' Park. Montpellier are currently top of Ligue 1.
Giroud has been in fine form this year for Montpellier, and the 25-year-old striker has been linked with a move to Newcastle as part of a 5.5m GBP deal.<br />
Since joining Montpellier from Tours in 2010, the striker has scored over 20 league goals. Prior to playing for Tours, Giroud enjoyed spells with French sides Grenoble and Istres.<br />
Newcastle are still desperate to find another striker as they prepare for the second half of the Premier League season, as Demba Ba seemingly carries the ship up front for the Toon.
