Thierry Henry linked with Arsenal loan return?

17 December 2011 - 08:42

The Daily Telegraph reports this morning that Arsene Wenger is considering a shock move for Arsenal legend Thierry Henry for the month of January, when forwards Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho both head off for the African Cup of Nations.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The report suggests that the Gunners will contact the New York Red Bulls regarding a temporary loan switch, a similar deal that has seen Landon Donovan return to Everton from the LA Galaxy.

Thierry Henry recently had a bronze statue of himself unveiled at the Emirates stadium, and broke down in tears after it was displayed. The Gunners' all time top scorer has always hinted that he would be interested in a short term return to Arsenal, and it appears that Arsene Wenger is seriously considering a loan move for Henry.

Wenger has in recent years approved the return of two other stars of the "invicibles', when he resigned Jens Lehmann and Sol Campbell; so the return of Thierry Henry could be very possible.
