Arsenal boss preparing loan replacement

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger today admitted that he may look to sign a backup full back on loan during January. Andre Santos, Jenkinson, Sagna and Gibbs - all of Wenger's four full backs - are injured.

Arsene Wenger admitted that he may look for a replacement in January, possibly on loan until the end of the season.<br />

"It depends now on Gibbs," Wenger said. "He sees a specialist again today and if something happens there that he has had a real setback then possibly yes."<br />

"It is not a shop, you just take a good opportunity that is on the market when you can. Overall that's what we are doing at the moment. We are starting to look at players if Gibbs is not back."<br />

Arsenal could turn to Man City defender Wayne Bridge, who has today been told that he has no future at the City of Manchester Stadium.
