Newcastle are set to reignite their interest in French striker Mevlut Erding. The Paris St. Germain striker had been linked with a move to St. James' Park last summer, but the move collapsed at the last minute.
So far this year, Erdinc has struggled to force his way into the plans of Antoine Kombouare, despite reassurances that he would be an important member of the first team squad in August.
Subsequently Newcastle manager Alan Pardew will now renew his interest in the striker, with a 5.5m GBP offer for the former Sochaux attacker. French rivals Rennes are also interested in Erdinc, but Newcastle are winning the race for his signature.
