Didier Drogba is believed to have been in contact with Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka regarding a possible move to China. Anelka signed for Shanghai Shenhua last month.
This week, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas told Drogba that he could leave Stamford Bridge in January should he find a club willing to pay the Blues' 8 million asking price.
Drogba has been contacted by agents representing Chinese clubs and the Ivorian is interested to hear what kind of package could be on offer.
The striker has failed to agree a new contract with the Blues this year, with the player requesting a two year contract and club policy restricting the Blues to just a one year offer.
Shanghai Shenhua are amongst the clubs interested in Drogba, and could offer the player a similar package to the one signed by French forward Nicolas Anelka. The contract is believed to be worth 180,000 GBP per week over two and a half years.
