Zlatan wants improvement

Zlatan wants improvement

16 October 2007 - 22:25

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called on his Sweden teammates to improve as a weakened Sweden squad faces Northern Ireland in a crucial qualifier. Sweden are odds-on to qualify as they sit six points clear of N. Ireland at the top of the group, but have yet to throw in many convincing performances.

  • Chelsea winger suffers head injury vs Nottingham Forest
  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • "I'm really up for this and I believe everyone in the team is too," he told UEFA.com.

"Last time around I struggled and so did the whole team, but now we're closing in on qualification.

"I'm sure we'll do what is required on Wednesday evening."

Ibrahimovic is in the midst of a two year international goal drought, a fact made all the more amazing by his seemingly effortless goalscoring for Inter Milan.

Still, it has yet to cause a crisis in confidence for him.

"I don't think about it much," he insisted.

"As long as we win, it doesn't matter who scores the goals."
