Aston Villa defender James Collins has been linked with a sensational move to Premier League rivals Tottenham. The Welsh international recently entered new contract discussions with the Villains; but there appears to be some rival discussions regarding a move elsewhere.

The 28 year old has been with Aston Villa since 2009, when he was signed from Aston Villa in a 5m GBP deal. However, with injuries to William Gallas and Ledley King, Harry Redknapp is reportedly looking for a backup defedner.<br />

Collins currently has 18 months left on his existing deal at Villa Park and manager Alex McLeish is keen to tie the player down to a new deal.
