Newcastle manager insists no Carroll interest

14 January 2012 - 15:46

Alan Pardew insists that Newcastle are not interested in former striker Andy Carroll. The England international has struggled since joining Liverpool in a 35 million GBP deal over a year ago.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • Carroll is very highly rated by many in the English game, but since arriving at Anfield his career has taken a dramatic nose dive.
Last week, a report circulated suggesting that the forward would soon be returning to St. James' Park on loan for the rest of the season.
"I think it's unfair on the Newcastle public and I think it's unfair on Andy," said Pardew.
"It was speculative journalism that had no foundation."
