Berbatov eyes emotional Leverkusen return

Berbatov eyes emotional Leverkusen return

16 January 2012 - 05:54

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is considering an offer from former club Bayer Leverkusen as the German side prepare a 9m GBP offer for the Bulgarian international striker this month.

 • Chelsea urged to sign Man City star on free transfer
 • Chelsea squad want Xabi Alonso as manager
 • Berbatov has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford with the recent successes of Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck pushing Berbatov to fourth choice striker behind Wayne Rooney.
However, Berbatov has never been short of options, and most recently Paris St Germain had made an offer for the Bulgarian skipper. It appears that the former Tottenham striker has now had enough of waiting on the substitutes bench at United, and will now seek a move elsewhere.
An offer from Leverkusen has been received this week, and with Berbatov's contract expiring in the summer the Red Devils could cash in now as opposed to losing the player for free in the summer.
