QPR and Liverpool do battle for Jelavic

QPR and Liverpool do battle for Jelavic

21 January 2012 - 14:36

In demand striker Nikica Jelavic looks set to complete a move to the Premier League this month, as Premier League strugglers Queens Park Rangers and Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool look set to do battle for his coveted signature.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • Rangers manager Ally McCoist today confirmed that some interest has been shown in the striker from Liverpool, saying: "They've not made an official bid. The reported amount would not be enough to meet the demands of the owner - £6 million is not nearly enough."

Meanwhile, Queens Park Rangers' new manager Mark Hughes has a £25 million transfer kitty to play with, and the purchasing of a new striker is at the top of his list of priorities.

The Croatian striker is desperate to make a move to England - and reportedly prefers London - and there appears to be a good chance that he may finally complete his dream of playing in the Premier League if an offer of £7.5 million is received.
