Liverpool hero Dirk Kuyt staying put

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt will not be allowed to leave Anfield this month. Dirk Kuyt scored a brace against arch rivals Manchester United yesterday in the FA Cup, and Kenny Dalglish has told the Dutchman he will not be allowed to leave in the transfer window.

  • Arsenal & Chelsea battling to sign Ajax defender

  • Roma and Genoa were amongst the teams both battling for his coveted signature, but it seems that Liverpool have told Kuyt he remains an important part of the first team at Anfield and he will not be allowed to leave.

Kuyt's agent Rob Jansen admitted there had been some interest, but his client would be staying put for the time being.

"A large number of clubs in Europe have real interest in Dirk and it is true that there were clubs in Italy," Jansen told De Telegraaf.

"But Liverpool will not let Dirk go."
