Everton join race to sign Nikica Jelavic

Everton manager David Moyes has joined the race to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic. The Croatian forward has been linked with a move away from Ibrox for several months, and it appears that the Toffees are the new front runners to complete his signing.

Liverpool were favorites to secure his signature for sometime, but appeared to have turned their attentions elsewhere.<br />

Cash strapped Everton are hoping to use the 5 million they received for the sale of Russian midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow to fund a move for the striker.&nbsp;<br />

The 26 year old forward has scored 30 goals in 45 games for Rangers since arriving in Scotland from Rapid Vienna.
