Everton join race to sign Nikica Jelavic

30 January 2012 - 05:19

Everton manager David Moyes has joined the race to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic. The Croatian forward has been linked with a move away from Ibrox for several months, and it appears that the Toffees are the new front runners to complete his signing.

  • Liverpool were favorites to secure his signature for sometime, but appeared to have turned their attentions elsewhere.

Cash strapped Everton are hoping to use the 5 million they received for the sale of Russian midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow to fund a move for the striker.

The 26 year old forward has scored 30 goals in 45 games for Rangers since arriving in Scotland from Rapid Vienna.
