Ballack heads for Leverkusen exit door

30 January 2012 - 06:33

Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Michael Ballack will be free to quit the club this summer. The former Chelsea midfielder has been told that he is no longer needed at the club and the 35-year-old is expected to have talks with other teams this week.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • There have been some reports that Premier League sides are interested in Ballack, but Leverkusen have received no official offers as of yet.

"If a club report an interest in Michael Ballack, then we are also willing to talk about the issue," said Leverkusen executive Wolfgang Holzhauser.

"But both Michael and this club are professional and we are all able to handle the next three months, (if that doesn't happen)."
