Pardew rules himself out of England running

10 February 2012 - 06:57

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has officially ruled himself out of the running to take the vacant position as coach of the England national team. Pardew has had a sensational first full season at the Sports Direct Arena, and has no plans to take the position.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Harry Redknapp has been installed as the early favourite to take the position, but at this time no official approach has been made by the FA. Guus Hiddink is also believed to be in the frame.

"Firstly as an Englishman, I am proud to be in that sort of frame, but it's not for me and I will make that quite clear," said Pardew.

"I am not even in the running as far as I am concerned. I am very, very happy here at Newcastle. We are on a little project here that's going really well and I want to see it through.

"The passion and everything about this place is why I want to stay here."
