No regrets for Fabio Capello

No regrets for Fabio Capello

Former England manager Fabio Capello has no regrets after he stepped down as manager of the national team last week. The Italian coach thinks that he made the correct decision when standing down. Capello has been linked with a move to Russian side Anzhi.

  • Capello stepped down after the FA took the unprecedented step of removing John Terry from his captain's role for the national team, leaving the Italian angry with the administration.

"We have seen the press conference live here in Italy and I can confirm that what the FA chairman and Mr Alex Horne has said is substantially correct," Fabio's lawyer Pierfillippo Capello revealed.

"I was not there at the meeting so I cannot give any details of that meeting and only those who attended can, and Fabio will not talk about that meeting. However, I agree with what Fabio did. It is an opinion, and I am talking on behalf of a father rather than a client, that he has taken the right decision."
