Dalglish eyes more Liverpool trophies

Dalglish eyes more Liverpool trophies

27 February 2012 - 07:05

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish last night insisted that the Carling Cup Final win over Cardiff City - the Reds' first silverware in six years - would not be the last under his tenure and the Liverpool legend is looking forward to guiding the club to more trophies over the coming years.

  • Chelsea agree personal terms with Messinho
  • Arsenal goalkeeper expected to leave permanently

  • A barren run of six years has brought no silverware to Anfield, but Dalglish insists that his long term job remains unfinished.

"Although we have won something today, that is not us finished," Dalglish said. "We don't want to stop here - we want to keep going. It (Liverpool) means an awful lot to a lot of people.

"All we do is try to make them as happy as we possibly can. Today we have been able to do that. Hopefully it makes up for some of the days when we have not been able to.

"We are where we are now because of the work everyone has done, not just me. The owners, the supporters, the players, everyone has chipped in. We have said that all along. The closer we are, the stronger we will be together."
