Man Utd set for midfield injury boost vs Chelsea

29 October 2026 - 19:30

Manchester United have been handed a big midfield boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea on the road on Saturday.

  • Arsenal handed double injury boost for Liverpool game
  • Arsenal & Man Utd in race to sign German striker
  • The Red Devils have been disappointing in the early part of the campaign and have picked up only seven points after eight league matches.

They now face a stern challenge against the Blues at Stamford Bridge and ahead of the game, manager Michael Carrick has confirmed a big boost.

The English tactician confirmed that midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has returned to team training after missing the last four games due to injury.

It remains to be seen whether the academy graduate is deemed fit enough to start in the heart of the midfield in Saturday's much-awaited encounter.

While Mainoo is back in the mix, United have received a huge blow with Benjamin Sesko ruled out for the long-term with a shin injury.

The Slovenian could be out until January at least with the setback. He may even take longer to make a complete recovery from the issue.
