Chelsea defender David Luiz hits out at critics

27 February 2012 - 08:31

Chelsea defender David Luiz has hit out at the critics who have scalded him for poor performances all season. The defender scored at the weekend for his club at the Blues romped to a 3-0 win over Bolton in the Premier League.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Many reporters have slammed Luiz for his sub standard performances for the Blues this year, but the former Benfica defender is hoping to respond on the pitch.

"The guys who have never touched a ball can't kill me. This is impossible. Because I know my life when I didn't have anything, I know my life when my family needed me a lot," said Luiz.

"I know my life when I left home at 14 years of age and I told them 'I will come back one day and give you a good life'.

"I play in a big team and when a big doesn't win for five games or six games, the pressure's so, so big. I believe in my job, I believe in my work every day, I believe in me. I know my football, I know my personality."
