Aston Villa star Bent eyes comeback

04 April 2012 - 07:52

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is looking forward to making his first team comeback, as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle ligament injury. The striker also revealed it is not certain if he will be in contention for a spot in the England squad for Euro 2012.

  • Bent damaged his ankle in February, and there remains some uncertainty about whether or not the striker can appear in this summer's showpiece tournament.

"It's too early to say for England. We'll have to wait until I'm outside running and kicking a ball," said Bent.

"The quicker I'm out on the pitch running, the quicker I can have an inkling about Euro 2012.

"But I am on the mend, can walk without crutches and have just started rehab work in the pool and also doing stuff in the gym as well."
