Manchester United will allow strikers Michael Owen and Berbatov to leave the club in the summer as both the strikers failed to make an impact this season. Inside news suggest that more players will be shown the door as Sir Alex Ferguson considers revamping the squad.
Both the strikers failed to impress Sir Alex and find a way into the first team as the United manager's first choice being Rooney, Welbeck and Chicharito. Owen is out of contract at the end of the season and Man Utd are not interested in extending his contract. The English striker has only played one game in the Premier League so far this season and is unlikely to get more playing time.
Berbatov, on the other hand, has scored seven goals in 11 games and had looked sharp whenever he was asked to deliver. The Bulgarian has never let the fans down, however, he has failed to impress the gaffer.
Man United are reportedly chasing Clint Dempsey and Edin Hazard who would be inducted to the first team if Sir Alex manages to sign them. This might also see youngsters like Bebe and Kiko Macheda leaving the club, probably out on loan to other European outfits.
David Gill, chief executive of the club, stated that, "There woill be some players who will leave and we'll look at some transfers". The comment hints that many players will leave the club and showing the door to Owen and Berbatov is just a start.
