Manchester United are winning the race to sign Crewe Alexandra youngster Nick Powell, and will nick the 18-year-old from right under the nose of Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The 18-year-old proved to be in sensational form this year for Crewe, as his 14 League Two goals in 38 games proved pivotal as Alexandra were promoted to League One for next year.
Both Arsenal and Man Utd scouts have been watching the player in action for several months, but Sir Alex Ferguson is now the favourite to sign the player after having a 3 million offer accepted.
