Newcastle plot Andy Carroll move

Newcastle plot Andy Carroll move

10 November 2012 - 09:01

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has not ruled out a move for Toon hero Andy Carroll once the striker's loan spell at West Ham ends. The England international is currently on loan at Upton Park for the season from Liverpool.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Carroll has failed to impress the Anfield faithful since completing a move from Newcastle two years ago, and some reports suggest that manager Alan Pardew is planning another move for the striker.

“He’s a Geordie and I think he misses the city, this is his home and at some point I hope he does come back here," said Pardew.

“I like him, I like working with him, he was brilliant for me. He’s one of the best No 9s out there.

“There was a point in the summer when I thought we were going to get him. We were in there because he brings something different to the table to what we have got and we could probably do with another striker.”

“He’s a Liverpool player and not wanted so at some point he’s going to move permanently. I’d like to think we’ll be in the mix for that.”
