Arsenal go all in for Edinson Cavani

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be considering a move for Napoli forward Edinson Cavani. It is understood the Frenchman is ready to make a massive £25.8m offer for the striker.

 • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
 • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
 • Cavani has been a revelation in Serie A for Napoli, and despite persistent links with a move away from the Italian club has opted to stay put for the time being.
Manchester City and Chelsea have both been tracking Cavani's progress, but Arsenal are ready to trump both of their rivals in their search to find a permanent replacement for Robin van Persie, who swapped Arsenal for Manchester United last year.
Salary could be a stumbling block in the Gunners' pursuit of the 25 year old striker, though, as Cavani is reportedly demanding £110,000 per week.
