West Ham have announced that they are interested in bringing Shanghai Shenhua's striker Nicolas Anelka back to the Premier League if he is available.
Anelka's spell in China has been dogged by rumours of unhappiness and unprofessional behaviour, and it seems that the Frenchman is moving closer to a return to England.
"It could interest me, of course it could," West Ham manager Allardyce said.
"It would be of interest if that is a possibility financially for us and he wanted to come.
"I have had no conversations with Nicolas' agent or anything like that at this time."
