Liverpool want Carragher as a coach

06 January 2013 - 15:00

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has not yet decided whether or not he will move Jamie Carragher into his coaching team at the end of the season, but the club are desperate to keep the defender at the club.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • "A lot depends on what route he chooses to go down," Rodgers told Liverpool's official website. "I know he is interested in the coaching side but I know he also enjoys the media side.<br />

"We have had loose discussions in terms of where he is at. We decided we'd have a chat after Christmas. There is no doubt I want him to stay as a player because he still has a lot to offer."
