Nuri Sahin heads for Liverpool exit

09 January 2013 - 05:47

Liverpool's on loan midfielder Nuri Sahin could be set to cut short his loan spell at Anfield and return to Real Madrid. Borussia Dortmund are interested in a deal for their former player.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Sahin has not enjoyed the best of times since joining Liverpool on loan from Real, and has been forced out of the first team by the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Jordan Henderson in recent weeks.

According to reports, his former club Borussia Dortmund could make a move for the player.

"Nuri is one of ours and we're closely monitoring his situation," Dortmund director Michael Zorc said of the player.

"The problem in Liverpool is he is not playing in his best position.

"We have previously said that we might make a move if he says he only wants to play at Dortmund. We have to remain realistic, though. Nothing has changed in that regard."
