Newcastle have had an offer for Marseille forward Loic Remy accepted. The striker is being lined up as a direct replacement for Demba Ba, who joined Chelsea earlier in the month.

  • Remy has been linked with a move to England for over two years, with Tottenham, Arsenal and QPR all expressing interest in the forward. What is unknown at this point is whether or not the striker is willing to move to the North East, as he is known to be keen to join a London-based club.

Reports indicate that Alan Pardew's offer of £10 million has been accepted by the French side, and talks will take place between club representatives and Remy's agents on Monday morning.
