West Ham eye defensive reinforcements

West Ham eye defensive reinforcements

13 January 2013 - 08:51

After watching his Hammers side slump to a miserable 3-0 defeat to Sunderland yesterday, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce admitted that he would be looking to find defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.

 • Serie A giants want to sign Liverpool goalkeeper
 • Michael Carrick drops Man Utd defender vs Newcastle
 • The Hammers have already been busy this month, bringing in four new players, but so far have failed to find a suitable defensive player.
An injury to defender James Collins added insult to injury for Big Sam.
"He [Collins] has a hamstring injury and it’s a bitter blow to us,” said Allardyce.
“We might have to take a look at the market and see if there is someone who can help us on the defensive side.
“Watching our performance today in defence we were inept.”
