QPR to beat Newcastle to Remy signature?

15 January 2013 - 07:01

Queens Park Rangers have made a last minute attempt to win the signature of French international striker Loic Remy. It's understood that the striker would prefer to move to London instead of Newcastle, and is jetting into England this morning to thrash out personal terms.

 • Chelsea open to selling midfielder for £100m amid Real Madrid interest
 • Xabi Alonso to replace Arne Slot at Liverpool?
 • Last night, Newcastle were certain that they'd won the race for the striker's signature, as Alan Pardew scours Europe find an eventual successor for Demba Ba, who left to join Chelsea earlier in the month.
But in a last minute twist, QPR appear to have upped their offer to French club Marseille; meanwhile the forward is ready to triple his earnings at the London club compared to his current deal at Marseille.
We are not yet certain if Newcastle will make another offer, but QPR's last minute trump offer is sure to frustrate Alan Pardew.
