Liverpool close in on Philippe Coutinho move

26 January 2013 - 05:42

Liverpool look set to complete a move for Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho next week as the transfer window draws to a close. It is understood that the Reds' newest offer of £8m has been accepted by Inter Milan.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Inter are battling a huge debt and have been forced to sell some of the stars of their 2010 treble winning campaign. Amongst the players who have recently been forced out of the club, include Wesley Sneijder who joined Galatasaray for 7.5 million Euros this week.

Coutinho has also been linked with a move to Southampton, who have also had a bid for the player accepted. However it is understood that the player has no interest in a move to St. Mary's and has already told colleagues that moving to Anfield would be a dream.

Coutinho has been a regular first team player for Inter Milan in recent months, but it appears the club will be forced to sell the young 20-year-old in order to generate funds.
