Crouch waiting for a go

Crouch waiting for a go

24 October 2007 - 21:37

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is looking forward to the opportunity of playing against Arsenal at the weekend. The England international, who was the Reds’ top-scorer last season, has got limited opportunities this season with the arrival of Spain star Fernando Torres and Ukraine ace Andriy Voronin.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "You've got to be ready," he told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"The manager is obviously going to change things and with injuries and what have you, you've always got to be ready to play and I certainly am.

"We've just had Everton, and now we've got the Champions League and Arsenal coming up. They are big, big games and I want to be part of it."

Recollecting last season’s best moments, one of which came in the form of a hat-trick against the Gunners in the 4-1 win at Anfield, Crouch is eyeing a start in the corresponding fixture on Sunday.

He said: "If I get a game hopefully there's a chance. I did it last year against a full strength Arsenal side and I was really pleased to get the three goals and it would be great if I could repeat that.”
