Federico Fazio linked with Arsenal move

24 April 2013 - 07:42

Arsenal could turn to Sevilla defensive midfielder Federico Fazio in the summer. The Argentine international is able to play in defence or in midfield, and Arsene Wenger sees the 6 foot 5 player as a potential option in the anchorman role.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Fazio moved to Sevilla from Argentina in 2007 and has since gone on to play over 100 games for the Spanish side and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.

The 26-year-old is very highly rated in both Spain and his homeland, but has always suggested that he would be eager to make a move to a bigger club in the future.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are his preferred option, but neither has made a bid for the player. The Gunners will offer around 11 million Euros for Fazio.
