Wigan midfielder James McCarthy remains focused on the task in hand at the Latics, surviving relegation. The player had been linked with a move away, with the likes of Sunderland and Chelsea all reportedly interested in his services.

    "I don't want to talk about speculation," McCarthy quipped.<br /><br />"The most important thing is to keep Wigan in the Premier League and that is all I am concentrating on.<br /><br />"I am happy at Wigan, it is a great club to be at."
