Mandaric wants new Redknapp

Mandaric wants new Redknapp

25 October 2007 - 21:22

In the wake of the departure of coach Gary Megson from Leicester to Bolton, Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted that he is looking for the new Harry Redknapp. Mandaric was left stunned by the former West Brom man's decision to up sticks after agreeing - but not signing - a new 3 year deal with the club.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • "I am looking for another Harry Redknapp to stay with me and get the job done," Mandaric told Sky Sports News.

"I want a stable guy with some loyalty, who signs a contract and doesn't leave in six weeks."

Coventry boss Iain Dowie has been linked with the role following the breakdown of a much-vaunted takeover at the Ricoh Arena and the transfer embargo placed on the club this week.

Mandaric, however, was quick to distance himself from the former Crystal Palace man but admitted he expects to speak to potential candidates today.

"I don't want to talk about managers who are employed, it's not fair to their clubs," he added.

"We'll see in the next few days as there is a list of four or five on there and I am starting the process of talking to them this afternoon."
