David Beckham calls time on glittering career

19 May 2013 - 03:35

A tearful David Beckham called time on his career last night in Paris St. Germain's 3-1 victory over Brest. Beckham setup Blaise Matuidi's goal as the French champions defeated their Ligue 1 rivals.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Before Beckham was substituted the tears rolled down his face as the player knew he was set to be taken off.

55,000 fans watched - included his wife Victoria Beckham and his children - as the 38-year-old put in a typically effective performance for PSG.

Even though Beckham is still elligble to play against Lorient next weekend, many presume that this may be the last time the former England captain takes to the field.

Beckham has been offered other roles at PSG, of which the midfielder is currently considering.
