Spanish boss Rafa Benitez met with representatives of Napoli in London yesterday evening, as the ambitious Serie A side lined up the former Chelsea, Inter and Liverpool manager as a successor for the departing Walter Mazzarri.

Mazzarri decided to call time on his managerial career at Napoli earlier in the week, to the surprise of many in Italy.<br />

Walter Mazzarri had enjoyed relative success since taking charge at the Italian side, but decided that the time was right to quit. Benitez is a natural successor for the club who are desperate to swap their domestic success for European success.
