Lampard backs Terrys Chelsea stay

Lampard backs Terry's Chelsea stay

25 May 2013 - 07:33

Frank Lampard has backed club captain John Terry to stay at Stamford Bridge, despite reports indicating that the centre back would consider a move away. This season Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic have ousted Terry from the Chelsea first team.

  • However, Lampard - who recently signed a fresh deal of his own - wants to make sure Terry stays at the club.

"I know JT will want to stay, he's said he'd love to stay at Chelsea," Lampard said.

"He feels the same as me. Why play anywhere else when you love the club you're at? JT's captain of the club and does a brilliant job.

"At the start of next season I think that's when the club will take a view on it. I know what my view would be."
